i’m one day closer to the weekend i’ve worked two days this week and i already have 22 hrs. after today  i’m sure i will have 32 leaving a nice day of 8 hrs on friday. get in get out. no plans but i’m sure something will come up. stories have been poppin up like weeds in the yard lol…sometimes. yesterdays story on the recent heat levels in Pa was a killer. had two stories in the paper today. i would’ve put the heat story on the front page lol

yesterday (friday) a call was received in the newsroom about a stolen police cruiser in a near by town. lucky me got to cover the story. at the scene the truck was over turned lying on the passenger side. a teen male stole the vehicle and wrecked it. my story made top headlines and of course front page news. today i should feel great and i did. i got up washed my car, wrote out a grocery list and proceeded about my day. then it all came tumbling down. i cant cash my check anywhere in the state so im not in a great mood. i will either have to wait until monday or mail it home.

my time in somerset hasnt been as bad as i thought it would be! my co-workers are all pretty nice and they appreciate the new interns. my first day my article made front page and everyone in the office was excited for me. we finally got air in our apartment so we have everything we need to be comfy for 8wks. still learning my way around.this morning i saw my first Amish people here in pennsylvania. there was on amish guy walking down our street and there was a buggy that came down not too long after. im looking forward to the weekend and whatever it has in store.

after a 12hr drive i made it to Somerset Pennsylvania. drove through Tennessee, Virginia, & W. Virginia, finally made it. i have a wonderful apartment outside of town. when we got there it was sweltering but after opening the windows, a Qool shower and direct TV on a flat screen non of the that mattered. yesterday (june 15) was my first day at work im interning at the daily american and to my surprise i wrote an article and to top that off my article made front page. everyone seems nice so far… mos def have found our “swamp” person…thanks jack!
